Emotions for Days grew out of Christina Lewis Vizcarrondo’s deepening exploration of shadow work, healing, and emotional awareness. After years of thinking about emotion largely in terms of feeling “good” or “bad,” she began paying closer attention to the much wider spectrum of feeling—and to the idea that emotions are information rather than something to judge or suppress.
The series explores painting as a way of experiencing emotion without immediately naming it. Each work carries a different emotional charge, but none is assigned a specific feeling. Instead, the paintings are titled with directions—Up, Down, Around, Beneath, Front, Behind, Left, Middle, Right, Sideways, and Upside Down—leaving space for the viewer to determine what the work brings up for them.
Created during a period of intensive personal healing and self-inquiry, Emotions for Days marks a shift toward understanding the full range of emotion as necessary: signals that can reveal where we are, what we need, and whether we feel connected or disconnected from ourselves.
