In the Book of the Dead, the Spell of the Lotus allows the soul to be reborn each morning, just as the lotus flower rises from the waters of the Nile at dawn. It is a promise of renewal — a return to light after darkness. The lotus is both a symbol and a state of being: pure, rooted in the earth yet reaching toward the sun. Through this transformation, the deceased becomes one with the rhythm of creation — death giving way to life, night to day. The Mistress of Rebirth carries this energy of awakening. Like the Flor de Maga that closes at night and opens again with the sun, she embodies the eternal cycle of becoming — each breath, each morning, a new beginning.
